About Sarah

When I was a little girl, I said I wanted to be an artist when I grew up. Along the road of life, I lost sight of that dream, but have found it again.

My background

What’s meant for you will find you.

I didn’t study art, but had many hobbies over my adult life. None has stuck more than digital art. Right before the pandemic I borrowed my son’s iPad, found an old unused Apple Pencil at the bottom of my husband’s work bag, and downloaded Procreate. I fell in love with learning how to improve the art I was making and haven’t looked back. Eventually I stumbled upon pattern design and I fell in love!

“The essential ingredients for creativity remain exactly the same for everybody: courage, enchantment, permission, persistence, trust—and those elements are universally accessible.”

Other Fun Facts

I love Italy

I’m pretty obsessed with all things Italy. My grandfather was born there, and I visited once when I was a kid. I dream of going there very soon, I’ve been learning Italian since 2020 in preparation!

I play the Celtic harp

I’ve been playing since I was 12. I didn’t have a high school job like normal teens because I would play gigs for money like weddings and background music at restaurants. It was pretty cool!

Egypt is the reason I became a librarian

In college I took a volunteer trip to Cairo, Egypt, to repair a school library that was in disarray. I took Arabic for a semester so really went because I wanted to experience the culture. By the end of the trip I knew I wanted to work in libraries.
